My Shoe My Journey
My Shoe My Journey is a youth-focused community initiative aimed at providing school shoes to learners who are in need, helping remove barriers to education while promoting dignity, confidence and opportunity.
How the programme works
- 1Identify a participating school through research and collaboration with the Foundation.
- 2Engage with the selected school and provide forms for teachers to identify learners who may require assistance.
- 3Collect relevant information such as learner contact details, shoe size, grade and signature.
- 4Use the completed forms to establish the number of school shoes required.
- 5Source the required school shoes.
- 6Arrange a dedicated donation event once the shoes have been secured.
- 7Distribute the shoes to the selected learners in a respectful and organised setting.
The project's initial target is a minimum of 50 learners and a maximum of 80 learners.
Potential School Partners
These are potential schools identified by the project committee. The committee and the Foundation will still agree on one school from the five options — no school has been officially selected yet.
